The Only Fools and Horses star who wasn't allowed to return for Christmas special due to bosses' strict rules
While BBC and ITV are natural rivals, it's not often you see that rivalry actually play out between the two British broadcasting giants.
But that's exactly what happened in the case of Nula Conwell, whose stint on Only Fools and Horses was sadly cut short.
Nula, 63, was first introduced to the Peckham-based sitcom in Happy Returns as Maureen the Barmaid at the Nag's Head, working alongside landlord Mike Fisher, played by Kenneth MacDonald).
She would go onto appear in four more episodes in 1985 including Strained Relations, Hole in One, and From Prussia With Love.
The London-born star was also slated to appear in the memorable 1985 Christmas special To Hull and Back, but these plans were scuppered due to a dispute between her bosses at the BBC and at ITV.
